Busy Shipping Day for UPS

Tallahassee, FL -- December 22, 2011 --

If you've waited until today to ship those holiday gifts and letters, you're not alone.

Today is the busiest shipping day of the year for UPS. The shipping giant says about twenty-six million people will use its services today to ship goods all across the globe. And about 120 million people will be using UPS to ship gifts and letters just over the next six days. That's about 300 packages every minute.

To meet that growing demand, UPS says it's adding an additional 400 flights a day each day.

Thanx UPS! For the last couple of years everyone knew the USPS was sending letter mail and parcels by UPS and FedEx wherever possible. Top heavy is the definition of the postal service. Then last week they no longer ship anything in one day!? I got five words for you: 'pony express' oceanliner 'air mail.' Gone but not forgotten. There's still a market for it, overnight...Lawyer's papers, doctor's orders with a signature, etc. Can't wait to see what happens to my post office box!
