Crowds Form for Michelle Obama

Tallahassee - September 19. 2012 - 12:13 a.m.

"I got this shirt in D.C. four years ago at the inauguration," said Cathy Howard-Williams, a President Obama supporter from Crawfordville, Florida. She joined thousands of President Obama supporters, again, this time in Tallahassee.

"This is an awesome experience, it's a once in a lifetime thing, I brought my family, I have my daughters and my niece and my sister and my mom, and we're just all excited to be here to be a part of history," said Howard-Williams.

Teddy bears, t-shirts, buttons and thousands of President Obama supporters swarmed the Leon County Civic Center. The first lady was scheduled to speak at 7p.m., but the crowd started lining up at least five hours before, around 2 p.m. and literally wrapped around the civic center.

"Tallahassee is such a small town, so for something huge like this to come here, you gotta take advantage of it," said Gabby Lee, an FSU student.

And on the sidelines of the massive crowd, a voter registration table and FSU College Republicans.

"The people in Leon County need to know there is an alternative choice," said Alejandro Capote, with FSU College Republicans.

But no matter what side of the political fence you sit on, there's no denying it, Michelle Obama did attract quite the crowd.
