Dance Marathon Raises Money for Shands

For forty hours students are breaking it down and busting a part of FSU's Dance Marathon.

The marathon benefits the Shands Hospital for Children. The funds pay for medical equiment and research grants. The marathon has raised over 3.3 million dollars in its 16 years.

"Every hour, on the hour, they do a line dance. And after everything is over we do a rave to get everyone pumped. So it's been fun," says Kiara Provenzano.

There are about 3,000 dancers this year. Last year's marathon raised nearly half-a-million dollars. The marathon runs through February 18.
