'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'

'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'. That's the message the Florida Highway Patrol along with hundreds of other law enforcement agencies across the country are sending this holiday weekend.

It's all being done in part of a national campaign to crackdown on drunk driving. As law enforcement agencies implement anti-drunk driving measures like the D-U-I Wolf Pack FHP conducted Friday.

"We conduct a Wolf Pack every few months, saturation patrol, in and around Leon County to combat drunk driving," says Trooper Corey Burk.

Corey Burk has been combating drunk driving for nearly three years as a trooper with FHP. Burk says patrols like this one, go along way in keeping the roads safe.

"It's a deterrent to have that many officers out on the road, actively patrolling, especially when there's knowledge we're looking for drunk driving."

And it may be working. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, Florida has seen a significant drop and drunk driving fatalities. Last year, the N.H.T.S.A reported 660 drunk driving fatalities in Florida. And that's down by over hundred deaths from 2009 which saw 777 deaths.

"We're out here trying to keep the public safe. The less people out drinking and driving on the road, it's safer for us all," says Burk.

And it's knowing he's helping keep those roads safe so that others can return home to their families, that makes it all worthwhile for Burk.

"To see that they're happy and we helped them out in some sort of way that let's you know they'll get to see their family tonight and we'll hopefully get to see our family," says Burk.

'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' is a national campaign that runs every year from December 16 through January 2.

If you have your heart set on a sporty vehicle, you'll probably pay dearly. Insuring a high-performance car can easily cost two or three times the insurance amount for an ordinary model but once place called "Clearance Auto" can help with sport vehicle..
