Tallahassee, FL - When it comes to concussions both colleges of medicine at FSU and UF are working together with what they call at Health Impact study.

They're working to enhance the way head injuries are tested when it comes to cognitive impact.

"I know this has been neglected, you may do a head scan, but this is assessing how the kid's thinking is affected in terms of trying to detect the milder head injuries that we know now are very serious," said Myra Hurt with the FSU College of Medicine.

They're doing a trial with hundreds of athletes from the Tallahassee area and the Orlando area. The research has been going on for two years. Hart says they'll release data in the next few months.
