COCOA, Fla. (AP) -- A Cocoa couple has been charged after police said they found pipe bombs and a cache of weapons inside their central Florida home.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad evacuated neighbors from a dozen nearby homes as they searched the couple's two-story apartment Friday. Authorities found two pipe bombs along with rifles, handguns and shotguns. Two elementary schools were also put on lockdown as a precaution.
Florida Today reports 31-year-old Clarice Marie Radcliff and 37-year-old Bryan Mark O'Halloran were charged with possession of an explosive device.
Authorities received an anonymous tip that guns and bomb making materials were inside the home. The couple allowed deputies to search inside.
Officials detonated the bombs after searching the home. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is also assisting with the investigation.
