Godby High School Students Give Back to Community

Godby High School students braved the cold weather Saturday as they took part in the school's second annual 'Soup Kitchen'.

Held at the Time Saver on Brevard Street, the students helped dish out soups and warm drinks. It was open to anyone who wanted to stop by.

"To get students up, high school students up to come and serve the community in this manner by serving the homeless, especially at a time of the year like this, it really warms our heart," says Darius Jones Godby High School Guidance Counselor.

Jones says today is just one of the many community service events Godby students will volunteer in. Jones says they hope to serve well over two hundred people at the 'Soup Kitchen'

Who serves soup the rest of the year? Looks like the 'serve the soup one time a year' crowd, has gotten its 'feel good about themselves' fix and will go home now. I hate 'look at me' shows.
