Home Show Promotes Natural Gas

The City of Tallahassee showcased its Clean Energy Pavilion at this week's North Florida Home Show.

The pavilion showed off the benefits of natural gas. And the energy saving possibilities for homeowners who can use it for , grills, ranges, tankless water heaters and natural gas fire.

"Natural gas is clean, it's environmentally responsible, it has very emissions than any of the other hydrocarbons. It's very cost effective. It's the cheapest energy you can buy in the Tallahassee market," says Vicki O'Neil.

O'Neil says switching to natural gas can save a family of four about $200 dollars a year.

My advise is "do not believe anything you see or hear at this event." The reason is here, the City of Tallahassee owns the natural gas franchise. It's not like P.G.& E., a business. The City of Tallahassee uses natural gas to heat water and spin those turbines to create electricity. If these folks did not want your dollars, they would promote the system that's there and will be for many years. Gas turbines. It would be counter productive to install natural gas appliances in a home or business, promoting 'clean energy or go green,'with you burning natural gas. Question yourself: Why would I buy gas to burn, when they burn it for me? This is the reason homeowners and businesses pay an additional 'utility tax' on their purchase of LP Gas within the city limits. It's all about the dollars. The City of Tallahassee wants everyone attached to their gas system, because they must have it, they get you hooked to it with these promotions and you will soon see. It's all over. Thanx
