Names of District Court of Appeals Finalist Head to Gov

The names of the six finalist to fill the Florida First District Court of Appeals vacancy have been sent to Governor Rick Scott for consideration.

The names include those of two private practice attorneys, two state government lawyers and two sitting circuit judges. The names were selected from twenty one applicants. The applicant would be filling the vacancy created when Judge Paul Hawkes resigned Wednesday in the midst of judicial misconduct proceedings.

I'm a Republican and voted for Rick Scott but I think the Governor should recuse himself from this vote of consideration due to too many bad decisions the Governor has made that must be reconsidered. I think now maybe this will be a one term Governor due to his lack of experience.

Lets just hope the Governor`s choices are not only pro Republican activist judges who will decide as they are instructed toward favoring business, antiabortion, reducing environmental and workers protections, reinforcing public funds supporting private institutions and overturning protections and care of elders and children in order to cut the state`s budget.
