Hundreds danced the night away at the Goodwin House.
All taking part in the eight annual Pioneers Gala. The Gala pays tribute to those who have paved the way in the community. And played a role in Tallahassee's history and development.
"I hope people will take away from tonight's event is a rich part of our history that has been in obscurity for quiet a few years. And that's the history and contributions of lay mid-wives," says Altheemese Barnes of the Riley Museum.
Barnes says she hopes the event can come back for a ninth year.
