Quincy Parade Celebrates Black History

Dozens came out for the 30th annual Gadsden County Black History parade.

The parade made its way through downtown Quincy. It featured vendors, music and food. And brought to light black history and the many contributions of blacks in the community.

"People understand we have a vital part in this community. And we want to be recognized as that vital part. We don't want a hand out. We want an equal playing field in whatever we do," Anthony Powell, parade organizer.

Powell is it's also important to learn about history. Especially about where you came from and what you've overcome. He hopes the parade returns for its thirty first time next year.
