Pink was the theme Sunday night at the American Legion in Tallahassee when hundreds of people came to show their support for breast cancer fighters, survivors and victims.
It was the 3rd Annual Rock the Pink Lip Sync.
The event was started by a group of local women.
"We started this three years ago when we were doing the Susan G. Komen walk. We needed a fundraiser so we decided this would be a really fun fundraiser," Suzanne Rita Byrnes, one of the event's organizers said.
After the first year, the women partnered with the Tallahassee Cancer Center for the event.
There was a live auction, a silent auction and a bake sale.
But the real highlight was 16 local celebrity acts who lip sunc for the crowd.
WCTV's Chief Meteorologist, Mike McCall was part of that group.
He and his bandmates performed Closer to the Heart by the band Rush.
"What's so wonderful is to see the community willing to put themselves out there on the stage, look a little foolish and do it all for such a good cause," Paula Fortunas, President of the TMH Foundation said.
The support from the community doesn't go unnoticed.
Mona Sand has been a breast cancer survivor for 14 years.
She says it's events like this that will make a difference.
"We all have to help each other. None of us know when anything is going to happen to us," Sands said.
The money raised will go to help patients at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital's Cancer Treatment Center.
