Tallahassee. FL -- March 1, 2012 --

About 50 students marched to the Florida Capitol today(3-1-12).

Students from Florida State, FAMU and TCC protested cuts to the education budget and tuition hikes.

Florida has one of the lowest in-state tuition rates in the country, even though it's increased by 15 percent this year.

"I have three jobs. Two on campus and one off.So it would definitely tighten my budget straps a little more. Make it a little more difficult for me to afford an education," says FSU student Kelsie Haggard.

Taggart says they will return to the capitol for the close of session.
