Teen Center Celebrates Be Out Day

It was 'Be Out Day' Monday at the Palmer Monroe Teen Center's

The center opened its doors to the teens of Leon County who were off from school today for teacher planning day. The day featured breakfast, a three point shoot out, and a career fair to help teens land jobs with the tough economy.

"A lot of adults working at fast food restaurants so you have the teens saying it's been a lot hard for them to get jobs," says Tomica Smith, executive director for the teen center.

Smith says today's career fair gave them a real opportunity to see what companies who are hiring are looking for. She says it also taught them how to dress and prepare a resume to land that job.
