United Way Big Bend President Steps Down

The president of the United Way of the Big Bend is stepping down.

Ken Armstrong made the announcement to his staff Monday after notifying his board of his decision to leave last week. Armstrong says he moving over to the private sector to join a construction products company.

"There's really a lot I can do in the area of economic development: jobs and activity here in the community if I get involved in this other organization and see what I can do to make Tallahassee and the Big Bend more attractive," says Armstrong.

Armstrong says he plans to transition over into his new position towards the end of Feburary. A successor to Armstrong has yet to be named.
