It's been a year of unprecedented success at John Paul II in volleyball. The spotlight was once again on the Lady Panthers as a pair of teammates signed to play for St. John's River Community College.
JP2 senior Catherine Goble says, "Well, I've been thinking about this day for four years. Ever since I started high school, I know that I wanted to play in college. It's just so exciting to be here today."
JP2 senior Emma Donovan adds,"Well, I've wanted to play volleyball in college since probably my sophomore year, so this is like a big day. It's finally happening and I really like the school. I'm really happy and I love the coach so I'm real excited."
Catherine Goble and Emma Donovan were born on the same day and now they'll be sharing a lot together for years to come.
Goble says, "Emma and I are best friends and have been since third grade. it's just great to do it with her and to know someone going down there and play with her."
Emma adds, "I told Catherine, if you get offered, I'm definitely going even though I was going to go anyway, so it just made it that much better."
These two helped place banners in JP2's gym, Now, they may do the same for St. John's.
