Tallahassee, FL - Larry Sparkman, former John Paul II head volleyball caoch, says, "I'm going to follow these kids for years to comeand I want to find out their schedeules and go watch their college games, and see how everything turns out."
Sparkman is going to be a busy man following his players' careers. That's because three players from the Lady Panthers final four team have signed to play college ball. The latest being Jennifer Meyer who's getting a full ride scholarship to St. Thomas Univeristy in Miami.
Meyer saysm "It's real exciting. I never thought I would play volleyball in college, but now that I have this opportunity, I'm really excited. It's really cool to be able to celebrate it with all my fellow students and everybody because they've been my biggest fans the past four years. "
Just last month, teammates Catherine Goble and Emma Donovan signed on to play for St. John's River Coomunity College.
Meyer says, "You know we are a really tight-knit group and we've been working hard the past four years and especially the seniors. It's great to see two of my teammates also sign with colleges as well. It's also been great for the school in general to have something like this big happen"
The three were unable to bring a state championship to JP II but their success is not being measured in banners, it's being measured in hard work.
