Tallahassee, FL - FSU's tennis programs are both poised to make a postseason run. For the ladies, they'll get to host the first couple of rounds of tournament play, while the men hit the road to Georgia.
FSU men's tennis coach Dwayne Hultquist says, "One of the things that's interesting is that three of the four teams in our region were in the final site last year, so it's a difficult region, but Boise State was in the round of 16 last year as was Georgia. Ourselves, we've been tot eh final site the past two years. It will be difficult but we're looking forward to the challenge."
FSU senior Vahid Mirzadeh adds, "We're thrilled for the opportunity to start postseason, and we're looking forward to doing some damage at the NCAA Tournament."
On the ladies side, the Noles are playing host for only the second time in school history, as they open play against North Florida.
FSU women's tennis coach Jennifer Hyde says, "We just can't be satisfied with this. We have been here before and made it to the round of 32. We need to take that next step. We take this opportunity and make the best of it."
Both Noles tennis programs feel battle tested. Each squad has 14 wins on the season with 10 of those victories over ranked opponents. More wins will mean this season has been a smashing success.
