Tallahassee, FL - "We need to continue to be a Top 10 program and that's something that we've talked about a lot."
Florida State women's head basketball coach Sue Semrau will get the chance to to see if the Noles can sustain that type of success after signing on with FSU through the 2014-2015 season.
Semrau says, "It's so exciting to watch Florida State continue to rise into national prominence. With the great staff of people that we have here all over the university. Really the confidence of the young ladies that have said I want to go to Florida State and make a difference. We're looking at doing even better things in the future."
For Semrau, her immediate future includes the summer spent in Colorado Springs as she helps to coach the USA Women's U18 National Team.
"We all get so excited about the Olympics, and so being able to be part of a program that leads up to those Olympic Games is just really an honor."
Semrau will not only be able to pick the brains of her fellow coaches and players, but she's eager to also see the systems and plays that the international teams will be bringing when they compete at US Olympic Training Center at the end of June.
"I think this is going to be exciting. The scouting and getting to know those players and styles to make it a more international experience."
That experience could help future Noles teams as they look to keep strengthening Semrau's resume.
"I know that they're not satisfied with where we are. There's a hunger to go further."
A hunger that will have the chance to be fed over the next five years.
