Valdosta, GA - Take a look at these two fighters grappling. If you notice any similarities, then you're good at noticing family traits. Brett and Tuzer Chism are now both fighting in the mixed martial arts world. Brett's been fighting for four years while his younger brother is about to have his second professional fight this weekend.
Brett Chism says, "It's one of those situations where I never expected that he would do it. He came in here and works hard every day. He's getting better. I think he's going to put on a good show."
Tuzer Chism adds, "I've learned a lot from my first fight. I made a few mistakes, and I've learned from them. I think I'm going to do a lot better this time."
Brett will be headlining Summer Heat - the fight card in Valdosta, and he's happy to know that Tuzer will be in the cage early on.
Brett says, "It's nerve wracking. I've told them to put him at the start of the card, towards the beginning so I can relax because until he fights, I can't relax. I'll be out there just as wound up as he is."
The two brothers train every day together as they try to better themselves on the ground and with their striking. They're able to get all sibling frustrations out in the gym.
Tuzers says, "By the time we get home with the amount of training and hard work we put in, by the time we get home, we're more than likely to lay on the couch and watch some TV."
Hopefully one of these fighters can elevate their game to the point where they'll have their fights on TV.
