Tallahassee, FL - "Number 32 - Solomon Alabi..."
He's heard his name called before, but it's going to be a little more stressful when his name is called tonight. Solomon Alabi could hear his name during the NBA draft's first round.
Former FSU player Ryan Reid says, "We're real excited for him. You know as far him being part of this team you know being a teammate of mine. I'm all excited for my teammates."
He should be excited for his teammates since this could mark the second year in a row that a Seminole is selected in the first round. Last season, Toney Douglas had his NBA dreams come true.
FSU senior guard Derwin Kitchen says, "For the second year in a row, for someone to go in the first round from Florida State says a lot about this program, also, So, I'm definitely excited to see where he goes."
FSU assistant basketball coach Stan Jones adds, "I think the best thing for Solomon is if he can go to a team that has a veteran center that's been around the league and is maybe winding it down. Where he can give minutes backing him up early to save his legs, and where he can learn the NBA game, and that guy can teach him a little bit about the game."
Alabi made huge strides while playing two years for the FSU so, he's shown the ability to a quick learner. Now, his growing pains will come in the NBA.
