The athletes are hoping to run away winners at the week-long track meet beginning August 1.
Walter McCoy, former FSU track star, says, "Well, first of all, I'm going to calm them down , and let them understand what the national competition is about and what it means. Then, I'm going to show them how I prepared, and try to get them right to where they can have the opportunity to win it."
McCoy knows what he's talking about since he won a gold medal in the 1984 Olympic Games.
McCoy says, "I can show them what I mean, and run with them, so they can see it in action, and then right after they run, I can correct them, and run it with them the next time to show them how it's done."
Jordan Frosier, a 7-year-old runner on the team, adds, "I want to be with coach McCoy, and he helped me out with running, keeping my pace, and breathing."
Even if they don't pick up any hardware at the National Meet, this track club provides the platform needed for kids to improve themselves.
Martin Willams, a 11-year-old runner ont eh team, says, "I think it's really great because it gives kids who aren't in middle school and high school, the chance to run in an organized track team."
Whether you're tall or small, these kids are trying their best to win it all.
