The FSU football team is literally taking its show on the road, by packing up its home away from home, and taking it to Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Since getting the nod after the ACC Championship, the Noles have been preparing to transport their entire operation.

"Not only do we play a game, we have practice too so everything we need for practice all week, we have to take with us," said Equipment Manager Darin Kerns. "There's no coming back four hours away."

Darin's team of 12 is in charge of gathering everything 120 players and their coaches will need.

"We have hotel sweats for them, we have shirts for them, we have shoes for them to wear around the hotel. Same with the coaches, everything the coaches need to wear for the week, we have to take up with us in a bag," said Kerns.

The full time students and managers dedicate 30 hours each week to the task.

It might seem like a lot, but the helmets need fixing, hotel sweats need packing and laundry needs washing before the big game.

"We'll have to practice outside so we have to plan for inclement weather in Atlanta, which this time of year is more than likely to happen. It'll at least be a little cold," said Kerns.

Since the team will practice for two days outdoors, they need more than just clothes.

They're loading up everything they use on their Tallahassee practice field and taking it with them.

That means indoor and outdoor cleats, hitting equipment and taping tables, will soon be loaded into these two trucks to take the journey to the Georgia's capital.

The equipment trucks leave Christmas Eve from Tallahassee and the players hit the road on Christmas for the New Year's Eve showdown against South Carolina.
