Darius Glover is a talented dirt biker who is standing out among his competition, in part, because he can't stand at all.

"He came in and said I would never walk again and I told him I would walk again," said Glover. "So hopefully I'll walk in that hospital and prove him wrong."

In 1996, he flipped over the handle bars of his bike and it landed on his back during a dirk biking competition. One, that Darius says he was winning until that jump, until he was paralyzed from the waist down.

But just one year later, he moved from the wheels he needed to get around, back to the ones he loves, the ones that both hurt and inspire him.

"Just the feeling of jumping and being able to ride," said Darius. "That's the one thing that I can do from a wheel chair that makes me feel regular."

With the help of a purely hand controlled bike, protective bars to keep his legs in place, and a lift from family and friends, the 19-year-old is taking on the racing world.

"I'm just enjoying life. I still get to ride. So I just like going out there with everyone else who's regular and showing them up."

Darius competed in the 2010 X Games and in a recent competition came in eighth place out of 40, against his walking competition.

He might be all business on the track, but we found it difficult to catch him without a smile.

Darius plans to show any nay-sers what determination really looks like.

"I'll be back up soon showing everybody that if you believe in yourself, you can do anything you want to do."
