Galimore Lanes has more than 25 years worth of history on FAMU's campus.
Now the 10 ladies of the Rattler bowling team can use the newly USBC and NCAA sanctioned alley for all of their needs.
This way they're spared the travel time to and from area bowling alleys.
"Here, we're on campus, I'm able to leave the office and come here," said Coach Sheila Martin. "The athletes are able to leave their classrooms and come here. It's very convenient. So when practice starts and practice ends we're able to use our entire time to practice."
The newest upgrades to the facility include a new scoring system and pin setter makeovers.
Along with the striking new equipment, the team gets a fan base they didn't have when practicing off campus.
"Now that we're actually here, we have students come in who watch us practice, they cheer for us sometimes," said Co-Captain Ashley Melson. "It feels like a lot of comfort to know that our school is behind us now that we're on campus."
In about a month's time they'll be getting the ball rolling on their new season, in a home of their own.
Just in case someone forgets where they are, they've put orange and green reminders on just about every bit of the alley.
"We're excited. We have a lot to do," said Martin. "The girls are really putting their minds to whatever they have to do and trying to get the job done."
