The Firehouse Subs Safety foundation was set up in 2005 to raise money by selling pickle buckets.
Since then, the foundation has raised more than 2.6 million dollars, all of which goes back to helping fireman with equipment and other needs. The funds are raised through individual donations and the 2 dollar pickle bucket sales.
"Our founders were firefighters so you have that heritage. So even those of us who have not been firefighters just feel it," said Firehouse area representative Chris Holmes.
"In a way its like still being on the fire department. You know we got to raise a million--million-3. We get to buy equipment for departments all over the country," said co-founder Chris Sorensen.
To date, the foundation has made a difference in 225 different communities in 20 states.
