Havana, Florida --
The Havana Merchants Association (HMA) will host its annual Holiday Open House town-wide reception Saturday, November 13th, and Sunday, November 14th in downtown Havana. Merchants will have all kinds of great nibbles and drinks to enjoy as you sign up throughout town for three chances to win three great shopping sprees! Drawing will be held on close of business on Sunday, November 14th at the Fountain area, and you do not need to be present to win!
Concurrently on Saturday, November 13th, HMA is sponsoring a Deployed Troops Donation Drive at the Fountain, to collect items to send to deployed troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. HMA has hosted several such drives since Memorial Day and has already sent some 90 boxes of supplies and goodies to US troops deployed to the two war zones. This time around the group hopes to collect small, inexpensive gift items and holiday cards to be sent to the men and women of our armed forces in time for the holidays, as well as puzzle books, Frisbees, playing cards, pre-paid phone cards, disposable cameras, snacks such as beef jerky, sunflower seeds, trail mix, nuts, etc. toiletries, aspiring, sunscreen, socks, band-aids, insect repellent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, etc. Monetary donations are accepted to help defray the cost of postage of these boxes.
HMA has three great bands who have donated their time to entertain everyone Saturday during the troops donation drive, including Neal & Kerr, Cheap & Easy, and Celtic Rock band Scots on the Rock.
So come out, enjoy the nibbles and drinks in all the shops, sign up in all the shops for great shopping sprees, find special gifts for everyone on your holiday list, and enjoy great music while you’re here! Havana has everything unique, from modern to antique!
