Tallahassee, Florida - June 29, 2011 -
All Leon County offices and libraries, with the exception of Parks and
Recreation facilities, will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance
of Independence Day. All County parks will remain open.
The Collins Main Library will re-open on Tuesday, July 5, at 10 a.m.,
and the branch libraries will re-open on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Solid Waste Management Facility on Apalachee Parkway will be closed, as will the Rural Waste Service Centers, which are normally closed on Mondays. For more information, call the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division at (850) 606-1800.
Leon County Animal Control will also be closed; however, in the event
of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County
Sheriff's Office at (850) 922-3300. Leon County Animal Control
encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St.
Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
