New Local Bakery Opens Despite Rough Economy

Tuesday, Maria Streety opened a bakery of her own. Artistic Confections is located in the Duval Plaza on Thomasville Road.
She's known for making specialty cakes and desserts, and she didn't let the rough economy stop her from opening up shop.
"I just think that there's a market out there for sweets and things that taste good. And I just feel that's enough motivation to bring people in because if you have a good product people will come," says Maria Streety, owner.
The bakery will be open Monday through Friday from 10-6pm and Saturday from 10-3pm.
