Wild Adventures: July 4th Celebration Includes Free Admission to Military

Valdosta, GA – June 27, 2012 -

This Fourth of July, Wild Adventures Theme Park (WA) lets freedom ring with fireworks, family fun and free admission for the military. The Fourth of July celebration, Wednesday, July 4, offers families All-American fun with 18 activities and entertainment scheduled throughout the day, culminating with the biggest fireworks display in South Georgia and north Florida. To honor the military, all active or retired military, disabled veterans and reservists receive free park admission July 1 – 8.

It’s All-American fun this Fourth of July with the region’s largest and most spectacular fireworks display ending a day of non-stop entertainment. During the day, guests will enjoy performances by comedy stunt magician Wild Willie, Superstar Valdosta winner Kelsey Stone and Georgia’s Dance Explosion in addition to the park’s live entertainment. Guests in the competitive spirit can take part in hot dog and watermelon eating contests.

“WA is the home park for several military bases across the Southeast, such as Moody Air Force Base, Marine Corps Logistics Base, Robins Air Force Base, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield,” said General Manager Greg Charbeneau. “We are happy to be able to extend free admission to members of the military to show our appreciation and support as we celebrate our freedom.”

All active or retired military, disabled veterans and reservists receive free park admission Sunday, July 1 through Sunday, July 8 with a valid US military ID. The free admission offer is only available at the park. Participating on-base Information, Travel and Tourism offices offer the best rates on admission for family and friends of military members.

Creature Feature Extreme (Hart of the Wild Theatre) – 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.
Kelsey Stone, Georgia’s Dance Explosion (Lakeside Showplace)- 2:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m.
Tigers of India – 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m.
Watermelon Eating Contest (Splash Island Water Park)- 3:00 p.m.
Hot Dog Eating Contest (Jungle Clubhouse) – 7:30 p.m.
Fireworks (around the lake) – approximately 9:00 p.m.
