UPDATED 5.4.2012 by Julie Montanaro

Folks who live near the crash scene say they want the county to put up better warning signs.

"It's too bad. We don't need a tragedy like this. If we can just get something in place that can prevent any more," John Malloy said. Malloy heard the crash and ran outside with a flashlight to see if he could help. His wife called 911.

Malloy says at one point, folks who live near the curve put up their own homemade signs, but he says the county took them down.

We are still trying to get more information about that from Leon County as well as try to get a tally of recent crashes.

A single car crash last night shortly after 9:50 p.m. leaves one man dead.

39-year-old Jason Ray Hall was traveling east on Whirl-A-Way Trail when he failed to negotiate the curve properly causing his vehicle's left side tires to travel onto the north shoulder of the roadway.

His 2001 Toyota overturned onto it's left side and collided with the embankment, finally coming to rest in an upright position. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating this case.
