If Chip knew what was going on, and I bet he knew, he should leave too. There is so much more to this story. I wouldn't be suprised if the entire band administration/faculty/staff is shaken up. Good riddance to them all.

There is no way that he is responsible for Champion's death. Criminal charges for that allegation is absurd. He failed at an administrative level.

How ironic. FAMU also has a blind Joe Paterno.

RETIRE BEFORE FIRE!Need to revamp the entire admin. 3 beatings that made headlines or hazings to make it sound a little less violent.

obviously one of the 100 that was not required to even attend school - yet received money for meals, travel, uniforms and God knows what! Yep, I'm sure you're going to miss White.

Where are all the Marching 100 and FAMU supporters now? What WERE you so proud of? The fact that you can't find 100 FAMU students to participate in your band? You can't look and sound good with just students? FAMU is and always will be a JOKE!!!!

The point is, if we want to truly be equal there is no place for a BLACK university, historically or otherwise.

To: ddd. FAMU does have a top rated pharmacology school but most all those students are white.

Well Anonymous, Everyone KNOWS they HAD to be enrolled somewhere BUT you seem to not to be able to read that some on that bus were NOT enrolled anywhere. Now who looks stupid?

I do not profess to know Dr. White but his accomplishments seem to be those of a great man. His down fall was not being in control of those he was charged with guiding. He did nothing to insure past transgressions of the band members were not repeated and since he has deemed it necessary to hire an attorney, he knows it.

Mr. White reminds me of the corrupt dictators overseas...you know what I mean. They rule with an iron fist, they have their loyal followers who get away with murder but once exposed they run. Mr. White, you can run but you can't hide. You permitted the bad behavior to go on and you will be held accountable. Maybe spending the your remaining days in a jail cell will allow you to reflect on the terrible things that you allowed to go on...

He should have been fired because he is responsible for the death of a young man. He should be criminally chagred for his death. He has stonewalled the investigtion and to some attempt block it. Mrs. Champion said it best..."It is time to clean house". The president of the university should be next along with 50% of the thug professors.

Resigned before being fired? Timing is everything.

There is a good comparison to Joe Paterno here, just for different reasons. A long and distinguished career all at one institution with a sad end.
