Why must we inflict pain in the form of violence on others who wish to be a part of or accepted into an organization? Why not implement increasing the standards of their grade point average, volunteering in our local schools and community, and/or organizing internal competition in musicianship. HBCU’s must change its traditions and practices when it comes to Greek, Marching Bands, and other campus organizations.

Listen to Mr Ammons. Read his letter published by media. He tells you he graduated from FAM. Am I the only one that sees a pattern of people leaving FAM with a certificate but demonstrates no more intelligence than a normal high school drop-out? These are real live products from FAM.

Wake up. Hazing has been stopped. The band has been suspended indefinitely. No more band, No more hazing. Pblm solved. Reinstating the band does nothing but jeopardizes the leaders careers, it is better for them that they do not reinstate it.

It was not just the leaders fault, the band members are not without fault

Wake up. The band is no longer. They can and have stopped the hazing. They terminated the band. See how that works. Hazing problem solved. No more band. No more hazing....still think they can not stop hazing. They have.

Over and over again I read blogs that screamed "you can not stop hazing" It is stop now. Let keep it stopped. Don't reinstate the band, especially after you are seeing postings saying the hazing will not be stopped....I am telling you if you reinstate the band the hazing will continue as promised. They have no intention of stopping it. H they just told you it was Amons job to do that not theirs and they truly believe that. You reinstate that band you reinstate the hazing of fellow black students by other black students.

Good apples don't allow the bad apples to stay by aligning together in silence to protect them. Those are not good apples. They may not of directly hit Champion, but their silence allow his murder to happen. They were co conspirators in the killing and they all should be charged as such.

The band members participating in that band had prior knowledge of hazing. Many of them witness it first hand, and yet "they" did not do enough to put it to an end to violence in "their" own band.No the issue is what did or didn't the other "band members" do and why? It goes no further unless they can show in writing that they brought the issue all the way up to the top. Did they do that? Do they have documentation of doing that? If not my friend the are the ones on the hook.

You are in band. You see a black girl get hit by a group of black men over and over until the break her leg and you do nothing? Why because President Amons is in charge? You are not responsible? Really? That is really how black people in that band feel? Do you understand that is why people don't want you to work for them. It is not because you skin pigmentation is dark it is because you refuse to be responsible for anything. White people in general don't think like that. That is why an employer hires them over you.

I believe his name should be on a building in that campus so the student that come after don't ever forget what happen before they were there. You all want to sweep Robert Champion under the rug
