You are both wrong. The priority is to get the free money and the government gives them it if they deliberately get pregnant. The government gets what they want(more debt to deliberately bankrupt the hated capitalist society, and impose socialism) and the con artist gets what they want .... a check.

He signed into law, the bills left at the end of Bush's term without Congressional approval, which he can do, and spent billions with his friends benefitting and going out of business immediately. Have you ever hear of Solyndra? Obama was a community organizer, and has never held a job, or met a payroll in his entire life. He has lived off the taxpayers ever since being born, and has created the biggest deficiency in the history of the USA>

I would also clean the federal payrolls of all bureaucrats, as well as state and local. Hire what is needed only. No more hot tubs for GSA, and Hawaiian vacations to play games on our nickels. Same for the city and county commissions, and do you know how much they have spent on travel and exotic vacations, in the name of "meetings"? Has anyone ever heard of anything accomplished on any trip? I have not. So Duke, don't let your royalty stand between you and a good job. If you can't get a job, it is because you think you are worth more than your abilities, and it is beneath your so called "dignity. Go pick up aluminum cans, or mow yards, if you think you have the skills for this, and it won't tax your thinking processes too much. They will pay your promptly.

crime in this town has grown like mold, slowly taking over until one day it is everywhere. to read that these men have contacted the out of sight out of mind gettin' investigated mayor on it may or may not do any good though. he's too busy with his own problems. Never hearing anything from the mayor about crime is unbelievable. So glad to be leaving soon, the "leaders" in this town are a joke....

Aren't any of these mothers smart enough to figure that out? Of course kids need their dads, boys and girls. You are totally right in that assessment, but I don't think you can blame the govt. for their lousy and irresponsible choices. The govt. does not make them sleep with any loser who will have them. And what about birth control? Everyone was having a fit about ending free birth control pills a few months back. When any of these women can get affordable or free BC pills for the asking. So how can you explain all of that?
There could be a cop on every corner and crimes like this would not be prevented. How long do you think it takes some fool to pull a gun out of his waistband and start shooting? The main problem is a lot of these kids are not taught any values or respect for anything, including themselves. Hip hop music and gangs are their teachers, and they have no clue what a successful life looks life. Nothing the police can do about that; parents are the only ones who can make a difference - basic personality is formed by age 7. Particularly with boys - DADS are essential, contrary to what some of these "strong" women think. The other main problem is repeat violent offenders are let loose time and time again. Police have nothing to do with that either. All they can do is clean up the mess after the fact. Parents need to be held responsible for the criminal activities of their little darlings. These adults committing crimes - guaranteed they have juvenile records as long as your arm, usually starting around age 10. When juvies get arrested the parents should be required to go to jail with them. If they can't bother to take their parenting seriously any other way, let them spend some quality time with junior behind bars.
