Hazardous Waste Disposal Day Held in Tallahassee

Tallahassee, Fl May 5, 2012

Tallahassee residents got a chance to 'go green' Saturday 5-5-12

Veolia Environmental Services gave residents chance to dispose of any hazardous waste or electronics through seven different sites across the city. People could drop off old light bulbs, batteries and Styrofoam.

"Some of this stuff can contain hazard materials for us like the light bulbs with the mercury and your TVs could be harmful and detrimental to our environment. So we take them and process them the right way," says Seddrick Coleman of Veolia Environmental Services.

The sites also were accepting nonperishable food. Those were being donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
