Multi-Million Dollar Lotto Ticket Bought at Tallahassee Publix

TALLAHASSEE - May 30, 2012 -

The Florida Lottery announces that Donald Vickers, 60, of Hosford, claimed a $3,000,000 prize in the GOLD RUSH TRIPLER Scratch-Off game and chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,950,000.

Vickers purchased his winning ticket at Publix, located at 2111 N.E. Capital Circle in Tallahassee. The $20 Scratch-Off game, GOLD RUSH TRIPLER, is the latest installment of the player favorite, GOLD RUSH Scratch-Off games. GOLD RUSH TRIPLER offers better odds of winning $30 to $500, compared to previous GOLD RUSH games, and the best odds ever to win $500,000. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 2.95.

The Florida Lottery offers approximately 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through instant ticket vending machines or on-counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, making up approximately 56 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $455 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2010-11.
