Thousands of Tallahassee students are getting ready to take the next step in their lives.
About 6,200 Florida State students are expected to graduate this weekend.
The colleges of Communication and Information; as well as Engineering were just two of many of the schools that held ceremonies today.
This year's graduation speakers were evolutionary biologist Edward Wilson. U.S. under secretary of commerce for international trade Francisco Sanchez and ESPN sportscaster Lee Corso.
Right next door, FAMU celebrates its graduation.
A little more than 1,000 students crossed the stage and received their degrees.
The ceremonies were a bit different with the suspension of the Marching 100. But, families were still excited to see their loved ones accomplish a major milestone.
Tallahassee Community College celebrated it's commencement today as well.
It was held at 7:30 this evening in the civic center.
Approximately, 640 students graduated. The atmosphere in the building was lively as family members and friends cheered for their loved ones.
