Southwest Georgia Tech. Professor Helping Haiti

Thomasville, GA -- April 2, 2012 --

A Southwest Georgia Technical College professor is splitting time between Thomasville and Haiti and has inspired her students stateside to donate supplies to her Haitian students.

Martha Hanna is a founding member of Much Ministries Trade School Haiti. She splits time between Thomasville and Haiti, teaching a nursing program to students in the disaster stricken area. The Haitian students were low on basic supplies such as gloves, pencils, and books, but local students have stepped up and donated.

"I have 20 students in my class and the idea is to train them as nursing assistants, but if they can't get a job they at least have the skills to better take care of their village, their family, their neighbors, their community," said Hanna via a Skype interview.

She is currently in Haiti. Hanna usually spends three months in Thomasville and then three months in Haiti. For information on how to help, visit muchministries.org.
