Ok a couple of members from FAMU Marching 100 beat a boy to death. Oh yeah FSU didn't admit a black student into their university until the 60's. And whites used to throw rocks and beat blacks for stepping foot on FSU for decades?? But let's forget all that cause it's in the past... Like Robert Champion's death...
I don't understand why you would shut the band down. Yes, I understand that Robert died. But we cannot sit here and act like Robert didn't know what he was doing. They all did. In an interview, the other Drum major said that there were 15 or less people on the bus. Now, if you've seen FAMU's band, you would know that 15 people doesn't scratch the surface when it comes to membership. If you suspend the entire band for the actions of 15 people, you are hurting several students who had nothing to do with the incident. And you hurt the university and student morale. I say let the band play with some strict conditions. Don't get rid of the baby with the bath water. Keep a great program, get rid of the hazing.

I'm at tcc. And I know that I've also heard of the graduation rates at famu. I would not go there..It's always in the news for bad reasons not good..like why Caint they balance the books at that school ? For how many years has this been in a row with money missing and the atlectic dept is broke. And yet all you concerned with is the band playing .? Wow. That's kinda stupid

Why? So FSU can get the funding. People wake up. This is a black and white issue. Do the research and read the books. I guarantee these negative comments are from an FSU supporter who wants to see the greastest HBCU closed so the FSU can get the funding. SMH!!!!

I graduated from FAMU and so did many others. Every program is great and the graduates are awesome. You are a stupid naysayer who probably has only seen a university from the streets. Why are you on here making subtle statments "the worst graduation rate." Do some real research and stop repeating what your dumb friends say or making up data as you go!

This school is a big joke. I read there graduation rates. Wow. And there mote concerned with what to do at halftime at a football game.. your loosing millions a year in your athlectic. Dept and you kids there don't graduate l.the worst graduation rate in the whole state. No wonder with the mind set the leaders of this school
I guess I need to sell my season tickets -if the band is not going to be reinstated.
