EPA and environmentalists have WAY TOO MUCH control in government, both in Tallahassee, the state, and federal. I have seen more accidents in protected "canopy road" areas than I can count. All because they are "protected". What about protecting people?

I can think of some better things to spend the money on. Like maybe our law enforcement! Not a roundabout no one seems to know how to use!

13K are global figures, concentrated in Asia, Africa, S. America. A google search will return lots good, reputable websites wtih statistices re hunger deaths.
My thoughts revisited: because we are conversating about trees, and not the 13K deaths/day, does that not say what we value more?

I don't understand why the roundabout will be there instead of the intersection of Welaunee and Fleischmann. That would make more sense. The light I use every day works fine. There's no guarantee people will even move into the Welaunee Plantation since there are plenty of areas with empty houses around town, so why assume it's going to be a traffic issue when there's no guarantee? I'm all for planning ahead but this doesn't seem well thought out enough.

600 trees to replace 115? I guess they will be planted 2 feet apart, like they did at i-10 and thomasville Rd, and i-10 and Monroe, or all in un-natural rows like the new Mahan road widening. They need to use the appropriate species based upon its mature size. Too many trees placed close together results in weak trees, and ends up looking like planted pines. I have live oaks in my yard, but they are not pretty and majestic. This takes open space.

A roundabout? Nothing about the trees...but...a roundabout? THERE? How incredibly DUMB. Possibly the dumbest idea yet. Time for these idiots to get voted out. The traffic light is what is needed, not a roudabout that people are too stupid to figure out.

The one live oak is not going to last. It will be a dui drivers new target late at night

That is absolutely false. Trees don't pay taxes and they don't vote.

I think that smart trees, bicyclists, pedestrians and everything else would have learned to stay out of motorists way.

Where are these 13k? Can't be America; we continue to support the poor in this country at an ever increasing rate. I would hate to think that EBT cards and the like are being used to buy things other than food.

Rules and regulations mean nothing when developers/commissioners seek profit.

I think motorists should stop killing trees, bicyclists, pedestrians and everything else that slows them down or inconviences them just the slightest bit.

I believe some trees are more valuable than people.
Fact: 13,000 children die EVERY DAY from hunger and hunger related illnesses. Do you value these children?
