It use to be done. Officers use to share cars but then came the PBA and they all got their own car to drive back and forth. Dont you all wish you could have the city furnish you a car to drive back and forth and not have to pay almost $4 a gallon for fuel

Can they come up with a budget that does not rely on utility transfers?

Can't be done. If this would work, they would have been doing it years ago. The bottom line is that there is paperwork that needs to be done, and it should not all be done at the end of the shift. The issue is not the paperwork. or time. The issue is staff and resources.

the city pays mileage to people using their cars for city use.why not charge these people the same rate per mile to use city cars to drive home and back sounds fair to me???

Time to merge TPD and LCSO.

I guess they should think about this when they do stupid projects like the one on Franklin Avenue. Maybe a $1 million per year politician license should be implemented. That would raise enough funds to balance the budget.

Make TPD four 7 Hour Shifts with each Shift over lapping 1 Hour so the ending Shift can do their Paper Work the last Hour of the 7 Hour Shift. THEN the Officers share the Patrol Cars with Shift 1 sharing with Shift 3 and Shift 2 sharing with Shift 4, giving Maintanance Crews a chance to do preventetive maintanance on the Cars between Shifts.

one way to reduce the budget is to stop the take home cars. why are tpd cars in havana and wakula? You can not beleive they are actualy doing any police work. No they and the PBA just think they are entitled to commute on the taxpayers dollar.
