Why is everyone worrying about his age? I am sure that career criminals were not boy scouts before they turned 18. He fits the profile of having a criminal youth and would have had a criminal adulthood like most felons. He just played his hand early at 16. No surprises here. And yes, fry him.
There's a HUGE difference between an adult taking advantage of a 16-yr-old by having sex and a 16-yr-old murdering someone. GEESH!
If he's found guilty, either give him immediate death or give him 5-10 years then set him free for a second chance. Life sentences are a waste of money.

He was old enough to make decisions to end the lives of others. This "boy" needs to die. I don't care who failed him in life. There are NO excuses for what he has done. He should be tried and, if convicted, he truly should be executed the next day.
