I am a parent of a Kate Sullivan student. "List serve" technology is so 20th century. They could use Facebook but even that is past peak. Much instant communication is done by text messages today. Kate Sullivan staff can only do so much given it's environment. The best eyes and ears primarily off school grounds is parents ourselves. We need to watch out for our kids and those kids of other parents as well. If we as parents keep our eyes open for this manure we ourselves can create a security net that nobody can break.

You are durned if you do, durned if you don't. It is amazing that some of these posts are against the actions taken by the school. A child being approached by a adult they do not know and are tried to be convienced that they should go with them, should absolutely be responded to and reported as it has been. We as parents want to know about these things so that we may keep our eyes open as well. Those that have a problem with it, probably don't have children. Please, if you have nothing positive to say, keep your opinion to yourself. Great job KS and LCSO.

I go to Kate Sullivan and help the teacher when my full time job allows and have been on the list serve for five years and didn't have anything reported to me by the school till yesterday afternoon . When I picked up my child yesterday , he knew nothing about it or his friends. This should have been talked about with the children at school and the parents need to tell their children to be aware . We can go back and forth on this comment board but we all need to be thankful that this little girl is safe and Thank God that the parent came up when she did .

Obviously you want someone to drive to your home/work and tell you every time someone slips in a puddle at your child's school. Why should you be above list serve? The school was made aware Friday morning, only another unknown parent saw it Thursday and didn't tell anyone. Be mad at that parent for not reporting it immediately. Waiting a day to report the incident definitely increases the chances of him getting away. I'm sure if there was an imminent threat, they would start robo-calling and using other methods, but this was an isolated incident that they found out about a day late. Get over yourselves Anonymous and Nicole, and take some responsibility for yourself and your kids!

I have lived in this area for over 30 years. I profile those that just don't fit what I am used to seeing in the neighborhood over the last 30 years. The guy in this article fits one of those profiles but there are others. It's not that I call the police or anything but when our neighborhood crime watch e-mail network cranks up, it's a good idea to have been aware of my surroundings.

There are no inappropriate comments. Some people have no filter, and say exactly what they think. This actually can be a good thing because some of the ideas otherwise would never be said otherwise. We have free speech for a reason, and I don't think punishing people for an idea is appropriate.

Are you volunteering to pay for these ads out of your pocket! The list serve has been set up as their way of informing parents of things quickly, easily, and cheaply.

There is way too much traffic to turn it into a one-way street. All this traffic will go onto side streets that have not been upgraded to handle this traffic, and put kids walking home at risk because some of the streets in this area do not have sidewalks.

Because you don't care! It as easy as that. If you wanted to know everything that went on at the school, you would have been on the list serve!

Prejudices are human nature. We like some things, and we don't like other things. This isn't wrong. You can have prejudices without being racist.

One of my kinds used to attend Kate Sullivan. Provided that you have an email account that you check fairly regularly, I suggest you do sign up for the listserv or at least check the archive information online at http://listserv.leon.k12.fl.us/archives/sullivanparents.html

Racism is nothing but ignorance! And y'all are full of it. Why be prejudice? What do you get out of it? Every person has flaws and it has nothing to do with the color of their skin or where their from. People have no control over who they are born to or where they grew up. So stop hating people for something they have no control over. Now lets just be thankful the child is ok!
