Interesting how safety falls by the wayside, when 'green' is in the mix.

Natural gas is not compressed to the same level as the nitrogen.

Please remember, gasoline does not burn; it is the fumes that burn. They also are lighter than air. Natural gas is all fumes, every bit of what is in that gas tank will burn, meaning explosion.

Ever see a charcoal grill tank explode. The nitrogen bottle example was to reveal the pressurization issue. The [natural gas] under pressure is the explosion example. Ask any of the technicians at our natural gas fired Arvah Hopkins power plant.

By the way astroNUT...when you liberals understand reading instead of just being sheep, get back with me...."A new station will be opening up to fuel them with natural gas provided by the city".

The astroNUT is at it again; hi gerald, what is it like up in space wiathout oxygen to feed your brain?

I don't see saving 75000 per bus either. The story says only 7500 though.

Nitrogen is not flammable, and a compressed natural gas tank is not under the same pressure.

Frankly Frank, I'm all for this. There are far far too many people anyway. I think this is a great thing. The only part that annoys me is knowing deep in my gut that Mayor Marks and his partner in slime Proctor are going to make a fortune off of this.

Why is there a company selling gas to the County? Since it is County property, County buildings, why not buy the equipment and by metered natural gas from the City? Who is working or profitting from the company selling the gas?

You kind of blew right by every reference to Nopetro LLC, a private enterprise. They will buy the natural gas from the city. So you can go back to your right-wing, backwards, upside down, no means yes planet. We'll contact you, via Allen West, when we need an experienced whining, complaining naysayer.

Ignorance is worse. Compressed natural gas is much safer than gasoline. CNG is lighter than air and will float up(not pool on the ground) and dissipate. Also the ignition temperature is twice that of gasoline.

When one of these vehicles is involved in an accident, and the compressed gas container is ruptured, the explosion will be heard in Quincy. This is a death trap. When I was in the Navy, compressed nitrogen containers, could go through a ship's steel bulkhead, if the neck of the container ever broke off.

Hope it works but it is funny to have government doing this instead of private enterprice...most likely will be a failure and we will all have to pay for the socialist 'wanna be' way of life!
