My wife and I are raising one of our grandchildren because his Mother is in jail his father doesnt want him living in his home his step mother who runs a dance studio in lakecity hates him, and his aunt and uncle doesnt want him in their home. So heres the grand parents stepping up that cant afford it but well survive and God will judge in the end.
If the parents are alive, the parents need to be the ones taking care of their kids. Not the do gooder Grand parents. Not everyone does it the way you want them to do it. Kids need to be with their parents and parent need to be with their kids.
The parents did have to step up. Her do gooding in enable them to check out and not have to be accoutable. She gave them the out. Who was this really best for. Is it possible it was the best thing for her? Not the kids? Kids need to be with their parents.
What about dad? He is excused?
You must focus on the solution and denying that we are funding the problem by hiring and paying people a monthly check(welfare) to have children out of wedlock will not correct the problem. End welfare.Its Free funding for ever addict that can breed.
The best solution is for the Government to stop hiring and paying drug addicts to conceive children. End Welfare a drug addict will do anything to get the money he or she needs for the addiction you are lying to yourselves if you think that does not include have a child for a check.

I agree with you. It doesn't matter the circumstances of the child's conception and birth. Those kids didn't ask to come into the world and they deserve the best care they can have. Many times, in the case of single parents, drugs, crime, etc., the grandparents are the best solution. I am a grandparent and feel blessed that I am not in this situation but if I were in this situation, I hope I could do it with as much grace as I see many people do.
Sounds like you did what you had to do and I respect you for that. Shame on his parents for not stepping up to the plate and taking on their responsibilities.

I hope you know there are just as many whites on welfare, if not more. The media and people like you only see what you want. Do not group all black people in the one group. Bubba has no clue what it takes a village really means, but what do you expect from someone name bubba. Just do it, you should just get the statistics, I bet you'd be very surprised at the results.
There could be plenty of reasons why grandparents are taking care of their grandchildren. I applaud them. It's a better alternative than having the children grow up in foster care because their own parents were unable to properly care for them. But of course we must focus on the negative here...
