Scammers Pray on Gas Giveaway Participants

- Lakeland, Ga. - June 03, 2012 -

Someone in Lanier County is trying to trick folks who want to win free gas.

It's Lanier County's "Great Gas Giveaway". Three lucky winners can win hundreds of dollars worth of free gas.

But someone is calling residents and telling them they won to get their credit card information.

Winners of the "Great Gas Giveaway" will never be required to give financial information. The winner simply chooses the gas station from five locations and the gas station keeps track of it.
