I am glad that these people are standing up for themselves. I heard the Sheriff of Leon County say that he rides through these neighborhoods and waives. It is clear that people are being killed. The Sheriff needs to be doing more than allowing crime to increase and Tallahassee to become a nest for this type of activity.

How many reports to Crime Stoppers end in an arrest? If no arrest, how many of those tips are thoroughly investigated? Does anyone know?

So they have to host an event with free food and music to encourage people to care about their own neighborhood? Wow. That's just pathetic - and explains a lot!

I'm all fixed out. Nothing seems to help and it is up to the individual in the end.
Posted by: Zimmerman on Jun 4, 2012 at 10:54 AM

Yeah, we see how well that is working out for Zimmerman. The only people that can stop this are the cousins themselves. They are not going to do that. If they were they would be already - their family is getting gunned down in the streets and it still isn't even on their priority list.

It is a simple matter of priorities. Which is more important; your family and your neighborhood or a false and temporary sense of security? Obviously for some folks, it is the latter. Self imposed repression, a real life example of it. Ain't that something . . .

Yep. How many people will die because they hesitate when faced with a split second to make a life or death decision? In fact, there are already four kids dead, because the neighbor, refused to go out and help.(Tonya Thomas incident). You can hardly blame someone for not getting involved. Who would want to be in Zimmerman's shoes?

Stop crying about and start fixing it.

Ok well sit at home and be afraid. Because no amount of law enforcement can protect you if you will not back them up with your eye witness account.
Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2012 at 09:25 AM

ok well that is your choice. suffer the consequences

How do you teach speak up, when the culture has DO NOT SNITCH!! so established? Just like with Champion's murder, it seemed there we some more upset about others speaking up, than his murder. This must change, but won't.

Because my neighbors are oppose to guns, I promise not to use my concealed weapon (with permit) to help them if they are ever victims of a violent crime. Seems only fair.
