Tallahassee, FL -- Trey Jones has not shaved all week.

"A little side deal about getting to the finals," says Jones. "They know I'm not a big fan of facial hair so I told them I'd grow it out."

He's going to have to get used to the playoff beard. Florida State is heading to the NCAA Championships for the second time in three seasons.

"It's a nice feeling knowing that we're back in the national championship," adds ACC golfer of the year Brooks Koepka. "Last year it was a little bit frustrating not being able to go, more motivation this year."

"We go into every season only trying to compete for the national championship," say senior Wesley Graham. "That's our goal at the beginning of every season."

This year's national championship will be held at the Riviera Country Club.

The team only has a few days in town before heading to southern California. In that time each is working individually on the practice course. Some have take a more digital approach for preparing for the course."

"Me and a couple of the other guys have been playing it on Tiger Woods because you can play Riviera on that we've been playing that for the last three weeks now even because we've been so in the zone for Riviera," adds Graham.

The championship format is set up differently than the regional. The 16 teams open with stroke play and then the top eight move on to match play.

"You get to show how you play with the stroke play portion of it," says freshman Daniel Berger. "If you're in the top eight you qualify for the match play and then once you get to match play anyone can win."

The site of four major championships hope to be the course for FSUs first national title.
