Jefferson County, FL -- April 10, 2012 --

Jefferson County High School’s quest for a 2nd straight State Championship Title just became a little bit more difficult. On Tuesday, Head Coach Jeremy Brown turned in his resignation and informed administration and his team that he’s heading to Pensacola after accepting an offensive coordinator position at Escambia High School.

Brown used his flair and faith to bring the Jefferson County community together and gain the respect of his players and the Monticello fanbase. In his 2nd season as head coach of the Tigers, Brown led his talented squad to its first state championship trophy in 20 years and the Tigers football team’s 6th State Title overall.

Superintendent Bill Brumfield confirmed to WCTV that the resignation has been accepted and that Brown’s last day as a teacher has been designated as April 27th. Brown met with his team and parents late Tuesday to inform them of his emotional decision. The State Champs only lost 4 seniors from this past season’s roster.

Jefferson County High School will begin advertising for Brown’s replacement immediately.
