CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Darnell Sweeney and Jeramy Matos each hit three-run homers to power UCF to a 9-8 win over Stony Brook on Saturday night in the Coral Gables Regional.

Stony Brook (47-12), which snapped a 12-game winning streak, will face Missouri State in an elimination game on Sunday. The Seawolves scored three runs in the eighth, but their rally came up short as Joe Rogers pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for his 13th save.

UCF (45-15) has won both of its games and can win the regional with a win over the Stony Brook-Missouri State winner.

Matos broke a 5-all tie in the sixth with his homer. Chris Taladay stretched the lead to 9-5 with a sacrifice fly.

Chris Matulis (7-0) allowed four runs in five relief innings for the win. Brandon McNitt (8-3) gave up eight runs -- six earned -- in six innings.

Travis Jankowski homered and drove in five runs for Stony Brook.
